Who I Am and What This Is

My name is Ethan J. Rosenberg, and I'm a freelance writer and critic based in Queens, NY. I mostly write about movies and movie culture, but the beauty of having your own newsletter is the knowledge that you can explore other interests when you want to. So while this space is primarily devoted to film-related content, there will be occasional diversions into music, literature, spirituality, and politics.

In short: it's me, weekly.

Most of my quickly formed opinions on movies live on Letterboxd, and I reviewed Grateful Dead shows for a while on TikTok. I made two short films in college, which can be found on YouTube here and here. I am also active, against my better judgment, on Instagram.
